Digital to Analog to Digital HELP!

Hello there, I am a newbie.

I have been recording through the Maya 10/10 interface onto my computer. Just band stuff. I am wanting to know how you transfer your mastered track onto analog and then back onto digital as I have heard it can be done. I don't know anything at all about analog recording as I am a child of the 90's! Would I be right in saying that I can send the mastered track out of Cubase (my Maya 1010 soundcard) and into the likes of an Otari 5050, then just record the track onto tape and send it back into the computer?? I really do not understand and would love to achieve that warm feeling digital lacks.

Many thanks,

Chris

I dunno, a cup of chai and a morning in front of the computer gives me a warm feeling. As does a hooker in my lap.

One way to find out. I have achieved some nice analog-style effects by just using an old tape deck: I go out to the tape deck, then back in to another channel and have "record" and "pause" pressed on the tape deck. Want to know what sounds good? Try everything.
