Digi 001 Installed into HP Pavilions

I'm thinking about purchasing the Digi 001 and installing it into my HP Pavilion 9680C. My HP has a Pentium III processor with 650 MHz, 40.0 GH Ultra DMA hard drive, with 128MB SDRAM memory. It also has an HP CD-Writer Plus to burn my own CD's. I've heard the Digi 001 has some compatibility problems with HP Pavilions. Is this true?

Guitar Center in Los Angeles will be selling the Digi 001 for $799 in the month of August, but I don't want buy it if it won't work on my PC. I've heard a lot of good things about the Digi 001, but I need some sincere honesty.

Has anyone purchased the Digi 001 and installed it into an HP. Am I making the right choice?

It is true.
HP pavillion is NOT supported by Digidesign.
I have read a post that somebody had success in instaling it but I wouldn't take the chance.

Email Digi and ask why. You mightjust have to make a small alteration to fix the problem.
