differnce b/w 5in and 8in monitors

is it just merely volume? I mix in my bedroom, and can't decide if I should keep my krk rp5s or my rp8s. The rp8s are in the mail, got them at a deal i couldn't pass up, but I just don't know if i'll use them. I know I can wait to try them out, but...:
1. they won't be broken in yet
2. if I decide I dont' want them, I want them to be unopened so I can resell.

Which is why I thought I'd seek the advice of the knowledged. Thanks!
 
Broken in?


The eights will have more bass than the fives, which could be a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on your room, the music you are recording, and the overall accuracy of the speakers (an accurate 5" will be better than a slammin' 8" that doesn't translate).
