Different reel sizes?

If I'm winding tape from one reel size to another, say, in the extreme, a 5" plastic supply reel to a 10.5" metal takeup reel:
1. Is this O.K.?
2. hwo shall I set the reel size selector (large/small, Teac 3440).

I think I asked this same question a while ago. If you are just winding tape from say a 10.5" reel onto two 7" reels, that is cool, you want to be careful about the stopping part so you don't stretch or break the tape. You could hit rewind before stop as you're getting to the end so that you slow the tape down at the end of the spooling.
