Just a jam I've been working on this week....takes a bit to get going, not that it really goes anywhere ;)......this is a 1st mix down....just wondering how i's sounding to fresh ears....think it needs some editing in the intro as its a bit long.....

Heya Queeps. I didn't notice the intro being too long. Cool and quirky instrumental over all - really kept my ears engaged. The extra long breaks around 0:40 - 0:55 are awesome. The clean tone sounds great- what did you use for an amp?

Sounds very nice queepy - everything is clear and has it's place in the mix. I wouldn't worry about the length of the intro with it being a fairly loosely structured piece anyway.

Are you planning on keeping it as an instrumental or working out a vocal to go with it? For some reason, the main riff in the piece made me think of Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes. If you were planning on moulding it into a more conventional song structure, I reckon you could build something cool around that riff.

You've been stretching your (chicken) wings of late mate. interesting & a little fun fun key.
VERY clean too as mentioned by fatfleet.

I used POD HD 500 for all guitars and Bass....Guitar was my Strat...using mostly middle and 4th position pu's.....thanks for listening FF!

Ha, yeah, I was kinda hip to this thing sounding kinda Violent Femmish....I decided to do the melodic/lead guitars in the exact oppisite of the Femmes and what could be more oppisite then The Allman Brothers, which I tried to cop with the guitar leads/harmony type thing....thinking more Dicky Betts rather then Duane Allman.....

Ha thanks Ray...my kids are getting just old enough to entertain, occupy themselves for more then 5 minutes at a time, allowing me to get back to doing what I love ...writing and recording music.....its been lots of fun....Ive missed it.....

I love your shit. You can't not smile while listening to any of your tunes. I feel goofy now. :D

Very cool. I think you can play tighter, though. Not all the stops and starts are together. But it almost suits the feel of the tune.

Some of the harmony guitar leads sound like the Allman Brothers on mushrooms. :)

Love your shit Queepy. I wish you lived next door. :D

Hey Thanks Rami...you know the Brothers and mushrooms are two great taste that go great together right?:thumbs up: I agree there is a couple of spots that could be tighter....may go back and retrack to get them there, or maybe just a little cut and nudge...thanks a lot for listening and the comments..appreciate it!

I like how light and happy the whole song seems to be. It's like it could be in a porno for children! Nice stops and odd re-starts. Very Rush like. Lol. The whole mix seems a little thin and bright to me. The bass sounds cool but in such a sparse mix I think it could be quite a bit fatter. The snare has a lot of nice crack, but it could use more power to me. Cool song though. Very good guitar and bass performances. Your stuff is always quirky and entertaining.

Nice tune, fun to listen to. You and others have mentioned the Doobie Brothers, and Rush, but to me it has somewhat of a Dixie Dregs feel to it. Great job.

Im thinking the Bass guitar could be a little fatter as well, going to work on it....that Rik is hard to dial in a good tone for me....thanks for checking it out

I meant to say Allman Brother rather than Doobie Brothers, I just brain farted. Not because I was toking on a doobie, just old age. :)
