Delta 44 DVD crackle...

First off:-

- Jacks and leads are all brand new and I've rotated to check they are not the problem.

- There are no visible hardware conflicts on my audio equipment.

- Volume settings are not the problem, I have tried messing with the Delta 44 volume settings AND the external amp.

Essentially when playing Mp3's through my Delta 44 everything is fine but as soon as I play DVD's it crackles like mad, especially during music or fast action scenes. Any idea why this might be?
 
A difference in sampling rates? If the MP3's are 44.1 and the DVD was 48, you'd get crackles.
 
Ahhh that'd make sense as the Mp3's are 44.1 and on the Delta card it does set to 48 on the screen. How can I get rid of the crackle though?
