Delta 1010LT & Cubase SE Help

Okay, I've got my 1010LT hooked up, got a mic hooked directly to the xlr input and have got nothing. I'm new to computer recording, but not computers.

Is there a setting on the patchbay or on cubase or something? The sound card is working since I can listen to audio on it, just can't get any to come through on my Cubase software. I gotta get this thing working or my wife will kill me

HELP!!!!
 
I don't know how much of a difference there is in cubase SX and SE so what I'm saying may not work.

Check to make your that you recording the mic in the audio in section in cubase.

If all its showing is stereo in check in the VST Connections to add a Mono buss with the input for the microphone selected.

Should be smooth sailing from there.
