This is kind of a bonehead question, but here it goes anyway.

I have a 16 bit version of Cubase (3.7 actually)f and I won't be upgrading to 24 for a little while. The Delta 1010 has a software switch allowing me to run 16 bit for the time being right? I won't have this nice 24 bit box that I can't use in my system for a while will I?

Or will I be doing this in Cubase?

it will still be converting a/d at 24 bit.. just wont be recording at 24 bit.

Thanks man! I figured that it would be an answer like that. That is very helpful.

my guess is that 24 bit converters are 24 bit no matter what resolution you are recording at....

yeah im sure tube dude. unless you know other wise. the a/d conversion has nothing to do with what bitrate you record with.
