So I'm thinking about picking up a Mindprint Trio (spdif). It'll give me monitor and headphone control, as well as an aux Mic and Line in from the desktop while the 1010 breakout box can be elsewhere and not on...
The Trio will connect right to the PCI card via spdif. However, the Trio's spdif ins and outs are Toslink (optical lightpipe), while the 1010's are RCA (analog). How on earth do I get that to work? Can I make a lightpipe to RCA Cable? I don't think so... Is there some kind of convertor I need?
Thinking about this has made me wonder whether I should look at getting the USB version instead, but then that makes me wonder whether the conversion will be any good! Isn't that the point of having spdif throught the 1010, cause it's better than USB?
