DBX 566 tube compressor

Hello,
have a chance to pick one up for a good price. I've never hear much about this box, and it's been around for almost 2 years. Not to much action on the forums about this model. It's not mentioned as one of the better compressors (it's around $850 new). So anyone?

Yes, it's the silver series. I read that review, and it seems nice, but I take that with a grain of salt.

It's funny that it's not mentioned along with the popular compressors that most people use. It's a little more expensive than the average compressor, but not up there with the well known tube compressors. DBX does have a good reputation, so I'm wondering why it's not very popular....
 
My Recommendation

I've not heard the 586 myself so I can't say anything about that.

I REALLY suggest you look into these though:

*DaviSound TB-3 for $1250US. http://www.davisound.com

*Buzz Audio SOC 1.1 (I don't know how much it is going for now but it was going for around $850US up to a month ago; I think it's more now). http://www.buzzaudio.co.nz

FMR Audio RNC for $200US max. http://www.fmraudio.com

I own both the TB-3 and RNC and couldn't be happier. Talk about quality AND versatility...
