DA38 hours

I'm looking at a used unit. Anyone know how to check the hours?
Is the Tascam Forum ever going to get back up?

I don't know the procedure for checking the hours on the heads but, if you have the owner's manual, it should tell you how to do that.

If you don't have the manual, TASCAM parts is still operational, even though the forum is dead and should be able to sell you the manual for around 30 bucks.

Good Luck! :)

Thanks but I fould it

I'm not going to blow $30 on a manual just to check the hours...

thanks to "sweetnotes"

The DA88 and DA38 procedure is to hold the “STOP and PLAY” on power up for head play hours (d.), and “STOP and FFWD” on power up for search hours (d.s.). Cleaning cycles (cle.) should also be considered for head wear and it is found when entering the cleaning mode.
