the price on the D2424LV is certainly "appealing" at the moment. a friend of mine SWEARS that the ORIGINAL D2424 is a "bettter" recorder, however (due to more precise A/D converters). has anyone else heard of this claim?? just wondering.

well.........

I've been tracking this recorder and am planning on purchasing it when my budget allows. The LV version expands the input channels from 8 to 24. Now, THAT is a significant difference!!!

I would definately like to hear about this sound quality thing though.............

The original D2424 is supposed to have better converters (according to Fostex repair guys here in Australia) The D2424LV has 24 analogue inputs, where the D2424 has only 8.

The analogue inputs on both have no gain control.
