I have just been hired, if I so choose, to mix a project that was tracked (and tracked well, I hope) on Cubase. I own and work on Cool Edit. Are these competing programs completely proprietary? I realize I can't just import the sessions, but does Cubase encode in Wav format? Is there an intermediary medium that I can use as a translator without compromising fidelity? Why can't we all just get along?
