Cork Tile

Does cork tile have any effect on the acoustic properties of a room, good or bad?

I'm mostly leaning towards it for the convenience of tacking sheet music & notes to the wall, but it'd be a dandy perk if it also helps to tone down outside noise & keep a bit in, cut down reverb, etc.

Edit: One "C" in acoustic, I may be a no0b but can't be lookin a dummy :D

I've used cork as a wall treatment - it was in sheets 1", 2" and 3" thick. Bit thicker than your app.

I've also used it on the floor in a control room - works really well in that app as things don't break when dropped and it outwears most other stuff.

cheers
