Copy and Paste help needed please.

I recorded an audio bass track then thought I'd like to try and prop up the performance by doing some copy and paste . It's blues material so I'm trying to copy one 12 bar section to another. Problem= the new section sounds weak and at half the volume. I've tried doing it over and over and it still comes out the same.

You haven't automated the volume on the mains or the track? There's no reason why it should weaken during an edit...
