Control Room Analysis

Hey all, can anyone point me to a thread about diy room analysis. I know there are some equipment out there that does this, but I don't have the funds to drop into something like that. I've search for a way to do it and kind of have an idea of how to go about it, but I wanted to get some second and third opinions on the matter. Any help? Thanks!

The Room EQ Wizard program is freeware, and it's excellent. This article explains all about measuring rooms and what the graphs mean:

You do need a small diaphragm condenser microphone, but those don't have to be expensive, and it's useful to have one around anyway for recording:
