My previous setup was MIDI on a (ahem P, cough, cough C) Cubase 3.7 Midi Express XT, Motu 2408 MKII
so I recently bought a G4 , I saved my files via ZIP DISK from PC
and I can open them in the G4, but I have to set-up MIDI
my question is on back of my MOTU EXPRESS XT is the RS422 plug
has no way of connecting to the back of the MAC
So would I have to buy a Card that allows that RS422 connection
or, input my PCI324 card from the 2408MKII and connect the Midi Express XT to that, then install FREEMIDI of course....
Is that connection correct to use MIDI, the AUDIO I know I can get through the 2408 but at least I need to get my OLD songs,
since they were done in MIDI, I would need this set-up.
My G4 now has Cubase 5.0 & Digital Performer 3.1
(just need to get MIDI from Cubase, then I'll start using DP3)
I'm just not doing anything else on the PC/MIDI, once those songs are done and MIXED, it's all AUDIO on DP3
thanks for your help
