conecting fostex to computer

can i connect my fostex to my computer through digital optical cables? i have reason 2.5 on my computer and want to use some of the things off there to add in to my recordings on the fostex! is it possible to to get my computer playing through my main speakers by connecting through optical to the fostex and then analog conected to the amp!
if this is'nt posible how do i record from my computer on to the fostex tracks!

I have recently been working on a small project with a friend who is a Reason user.

We take the Reason track out to the VF160 to add instruments and vocals.

This is how we do it:
1. He prepares the Reason mix then chooses 'Export Song as Audio File' (select WAV file option).
2. We use an audio editor (Wavelab) to split the stereo track into dual mono (separate left and right). (NTrack can split stereo tracks)
3. I burn the two tracks to a CD or Zip disk and transfer to the VF, using Load Program.

Takes longer to write than to do!
