Computer Recording Help Please

Right now i have a Fostex VF-160 which is a 16 multitrack recorder. I am currently in the process of building a computer and was wondering if someone could help me as to why would I consider using my computer for multitracking if I already have a 16 track recorder. Will I be wasting my money or will this computer make my studio better with the proper software. I already have Sonar 2.0 XL

My studio consists of :

ASR 10 Keyboard
MPC 2000xl
VF-160
DJ mixer
Turntables


Will the Computer be an upgrade or waste of money?
 
Depending on what you decide to get will give you much better quality and tons of editing power well beyond the fostex. And midi will come into play with your keyboard ?
