Does anyone know of any software that allows you to record drum beats say to CW Sonar or Acid? Im looking to not only just be able to program a beat but, maybe also have it be real time. Such as many keyboards do. Maybe having them assigned to the keyboard. K = Kick Drum, C = Cymbal.

Just curious

You can do it with a keyboard directly in Cakewalk or SONAR. Or with a drum machine set up as a MIDI controller. Or by clicking notes into one of the editing views (piano roll or staff).

There are also software programs that create MIDI drum tracks (as well as bass and keyboards and others) based on style definitions and a list of chord changes. The two I've tried are Band in a Box and Jammer. You can export your tracks as Standard MIDI Files and open them in Cakewalk or SONAR.
