Computer and UA-700 aren't talking to each other!

Hi,

I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've hooked up my Edirol UA-700 to my computer. I have Cakewalk 2004 XL.

I can't seem to get the two to talk to each other.

The computer recognized the UA when it is plugged in, but no talky talky.

This is really frustrating as I know Cakewalk is installed properly.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or could it be something I'm not doing right.

If anybody is familiar with these two, or knows what's going on. I'd really appreciate some advice.

Thank-you
Lequarius.

leq. i could probably help you through this.
BUT i would suggest it would be better to contact edirol tech support.
as it could be several possibilities. if you dont get a satisfactory resolution then post again. i should tell you (i'm a puter engr) i'm no fan of the usb protocol(a lot of puter engrs arent) as a lot of people seem to be having problems with it here and elsewhere. now some people ARE having a vgood experience.
but it seems to vary based on the individual users pc configuration.
for example if your pc does not support usb 2.0 (the faster protocol)
this might be an issue or say your computer is old. also for people here to help you i and others would need to know your pc confign in detail.
assuming you have done all the usual things like ensuring usb actually works on your pc and the drivers appear and have been selected in your multitrack software i would contact edirol.
peace.
