I have a lovely red compressor, I can paint with it and use a nail gun, but I cant seem to be able to use compressors on my music, I have a basic understanding of how they work but cant seem to use them effectively, in most cases it just sounds like a volume drop.
Where and when are the best times to use one, like on drums for instance, what sort of settings, some of my recordings tend to boom occasionally, Ive tried Low cuts with EQ but the overall sound suffers, (light and tinny).
Could someone please compress me..oops I meant impress.
