compression vs.reverb

I have a Samson mixpad9 and a peavey pvm 38i
mic. I'm trying to get the vocals to blend more and lay less flat. two things within my budget, nano compressor or nanoverb ( or the ART FX-1). What would be better, compressor or effects?

Go for the reverb. I have a compressor resting in my basement; never found it did much for my recording set-up. The nano will give you just 99 bucks worth but it's worth it.

Only minus about the Nano is you cannot edit any patches.

I have two reverb units: an Alesis Micro and an Ensonique DP-4 which is a monster. I use the Alesis most of the time and insert the Ensonique when I want to really work on something.

Have fun and keep twiddling the dials.
