compression questions

It depends on each and every specific track.
I don't think anybody can give you to much info with out hearing it.
As a general guide line try to compress (if needed at all!!), low ratio with a 3-6dB reduction at the loudest part of the track, with a starting point of attack-1m
and release - 1/2-1 sec. This is a VERY general starting point.
I advice you to only use this as a starting point only and to adjust from here.
Better advice would be to learn to use your compressor and adjust it as you need by yourself.
