Clearsonic Sorbers OK for temporary recording booth?

From their description of them it seems that they are one and a half inch fiberglass (likely 705) covered in fabric. As such they should work, but there is nothing likely magical about them compared to absorbers you could build yourself. While they alone might be good enough for deadening a space for vocals if you were doing something with a broader frequency range you will likely want some bass traps because the thickness of the Sorber will not absorb bass as well as the mids and highs.

Yes, book shelves (especially with the books stacked oddly in a varied order) act as a bass and wave absorber. Note in the photo I put a bookshelf across that entire wall.

You can certainly double up on the blankets OR you can use straps to hang panels of 703 sound insulation from the PVC top pipe behind the blankets.

You can also built 2 sets and put them together for a full booth.

The idea of the project was to do something simple and cheap that could be disassembled and keep the wifey happy....
