"Clean" Pre comparisons...

As anyone ever compared these 3 pre's?

John Hardy M1
Avalon AD2022
Earthworks 1022

How do they differ? What would be your recommendations? (I'm looking for a versatile pre for multiple tracking...to go along with my tube pre.)

Also, feel free to suggest a different one.

I have heard both the Hardy and the Avalon...both are excellent...buy the Hardy....and buy the 4 space rack and power supply...in the future you can add if need be....The Hardy's are particularly good at multiple instrument stacking without fear of any unwanted or unusable buildup.
