Cerrone's Paradise Demo

Was pulling some mixes the other day and found this track I test recorded and I was delighted to hear the fatness coming through on the 8 channel 80-8. The tape was early '70s scotch 203 that has really bad "drop outs" so beware. The mixer is a 1976 Teac Model-5. Just recorded in the old fashioned way straight through without punch in capabilities.

1-friend's 70s J bass
2- 1973 Fender Rhodes through Mu-tron Phasor 1 (also '73) into '77 twin reverb (mic'd)
3- 1959 Hammond M1 into '77 Twin Reverb (mic'd)
4- modern day usa Fender strat into '77 Twin Reverb
5- drums one (1978 Premier Birch concert drums, in carpeted drum booth)
6-drums two (bass drum, 24")
7-guitar two (for touch ups)
8- 1974 Yamaha Sy-1 synthesizer

Thank you two for listening! Noisy tape recordings aren't everybody's thing, but they float my boat!
EdIT - I sure do miss those drums. The most special cymbal I ever had, a 1970s Zildjian K 17" crash :-(
The matching snare on the Premier was quite something...glad to know it

As far as tape goes i wouldn't have said this was noisy - but whatever floats your boat.
I thought the kick drum was a bit heavy in the mix, or a bit 'woofy' but maybe that's just the fatness you mentioned.
Cool tune i enjoyed :thumbs up:

Much better realized than the last couple of things you've posted.

The bass drum is a bit too far forward in the mix.
Some of the reverb is a bit heavy handed.

Good work.
