Card formatting issues with FR2

I just received my 'new' Fostex FR2 and some cards arrived today.
I am pretty sure the cards are of the correct type, Type II Hitachi 6GB.
Trying to initial format the card it gets to 'CFC Loading . . Remain=00m00s"" and then goes no further.
Any ideas?
 
The (2007) Confirmed Media List for the FR2 shows that the card speeds of 176.4 and 192 on the Hitachi 6Gb card are no good. Does this apply to your cards?

The seller agrees with you - I wish I had known about this list before hand!
I bought a Sandisc card and it seems to work fine.
