Okay I took a chance on Ebay with an old EV 665 mic, the seller was forthright about not testing it, and what do you know it showed up today and it doesn't work.
I checked the wiring at the XlR as well as at the impedance switch. Then I took the grill off and carefully got things out....it seems that there are two little teeny weeny wires that are broken on the very top of the capsule, under a sort of plastic-y thing.
Can these wires be fixed? Seems like a real shame, I know its a good mic.....can anyone recommend a fix or maybe a shop that specializes in these things?
