Can I hook up a floppy disk drive to my motif6.

Why would you want to?

That's like asking "Can I play a vcr tape in my dvd player?"...

Try using a hard drive, a zip drive, or smart media cards.

What's 1.44mb, when you have 100's of mb and/or gb at your disposal?

Ditto. A 128Mb Smart Media card only costs $40-60.

Yes, you can! I do agree with the others that using a floppy on a Motif would be a little primative, but if you just wanted to store midi files it will be fine.

Buy the Yamaha Midi Data Filer. They sell it at Guitar Center or musiciansfriend.com and it's around 300-400 dollars. It hooks up via midi and it can store and edit midi to floppy discs.
