Can anyone help me chosing an audio interface?

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new in recording and stuff so I need you help to chose an audio interface. I've got the Mackie Onyx 24-4 analogue mixing desk, it doesn't have ADAT or Firewire so I was wondering what audio interface could fit and I can use the maximum of inputs in my DAW.
I would appreciate an advise what to do. I really want to stick with that desk, just need the right sound card for it. Any ideas???

Depends on your budget and what you eventually want to do.

Ok, for instance if I go with 'MOTU 828mk3 Firewire Audio Interface' how do I wire it to the desk so I can get the maximum of inputs on my computer? This wiring seems so complicated to me...
