CAD M37 for Live Performance

I'm playing in a 3 piece folk band. Right now all our instruments go DI, and we all sing into an AKG C2000B. I'm not too pleased with the sound as it is. It seems a bit thin, even running thru a tube pre. I've been hearing good things on this board about the M37, and right now 8th Street has them with a shock mount and pop filter for $119.

Should I bite? Has anyone used this mic live?

Are there any other mics at this price point I should consider?

I think this is not the same M37 which musiciansfriends sells. I believe this is the M37 from Global Audio.(http://www.cadmics.com/global_audio_m37.htm). The CAD m37/m177 has 1.1" capsule and 10hz-20khz freq. response.
