CAD / Global Audio GXL 1200

Anybody used this mic? It looks and charts suspiciously like the Marshall MXL 603s. For about $20 less, I'm wondering if it would provide the same or similar performance/sound.

I posted about the GLX1200 a couple of days ago. I don't know if it's any good but I can't believe how much the price of mikes are dropping.

ADK and Shure just released some new small diaphram condensers. One of the Shure mikes let you switch from cardoid to omni just by twisting the mic....it's an interesting design.

Global Audio GXL 1200

This mic is probably close enough to the MXL 603s or the Nady equivalent. For $60 you can't go wrong buying them from here....

The Global Audio GXL2200 1" large diaphragm condensers are $50 each from 8thstreet as well... they look like Nady SCM900's to me.

Be careful! It also looks like the Nady CM90, which was not so hot. The 603 didn't have the slots over the diaphram, just mesh. This has the same slots on the capsule as the CM90. The CM90 also had a 3 micron diaphram vs. the 6 micron of the 603, but the circuit was the same. I don't see any info on that.

I had a pair of GXL1200s and I used them with pretty good success. I eventually sold them to another guy on this board. I would also say the 603s are worth the price premium, no question.
