C1 and Drums?

I just picked up a SP C1 as my first LD condenser and was wondering if anyone had used this mic to record drums. Are there any reasons not to?

no reason you shouldnt....be careful of SPL's.....probably good as an overhead......

sound pressure levels......measured in decibels. Don't know how much that mic can take, but I wouldn't subject it to anything over 130. Overhead's probably your best bet with that.

Peace and afro grease,
Mike

wow, that's what a SPL is?...i just said it cause it sounded really cool.......

peace and baker's yeast.......

At one point Alan Hyatt (Mr. C1) ;) mentioned a recording where they mic'd an entire kit with C1's? He never produced it for us to hear, though...

Im sure its very possibe.....I hope you are in a good quiet room cause those babies can pick up a roach farting 3 rooms away......any engineer worth their weight in salt gets the bulk of their drum sound from the overheads so again, very possible.......
