Bouncing Tracks? I Hear It All The Time!!!

What it is, is taking two or more tracks, mixing them together and re-recording them to another track/tracks. In the case of a four tracker, one track. How on your machine you ask? RTFM.

Basically, it's when you mix down a few tracks onto one or two, to free some up. For instance, if you record stuff on track 1, 2 and 3, you can mix (or bounce) those down onto 4, and reuse 1, 2 and 3. You can keep going, and record onto 1 and 2, and bounce those down to 3, thereby freeing up 1 and 2. That's about it.

Keep in mind though, that you loose quality (increase tape noise) whenever you bounce.
