Boom arms

Hello there people of HR, I have recently gotten myself a boom arm floor stand and it appears that the microphone's weight keeps dragging the whole boom arm now, any "remedies" for this?

Yes, either get one that's well made and it won't happen or hang a weight (small child, family pet) from the other end of the arm, or maybe tighten it up sufficiently and hang the cable on the short end to offset some of the imbalance.

Simply don't extend the arm all the way with a mic on it or have it at an angle that makes the boom go upwards rather than outwards.

Counter-weights.

I use those cheap velcro exercise wrist weights.

Sounds like a great idea! I have a few wrist weights at home.
