Can anyone advice which books to get regarding mixing techniques, am looking for one that has not only tech info but also contains musical/artistic info like how to create certain effects, where to place them in a mix. How to work with certain genres.

You might want to browse through this catalog of audio books: head to my website at www.independentrecording.net and click on the "Studio Reference Books Catalog" icon towards the lower right. When in that catalog, click on the tab for "Audio Production and Technique" to get a thumbnail image listing of books on that topic from Amazon.com. From there you can get basic information such as title, author, price, availability and review rating just by mousing over each image, and get full descriptions, reviews and ordering info from Amazon just by clicking each thumbnail.

Browse to your heart's content, but you might want to especially check out Mixing Audio by Roey Izhaki.
