What would be considered good software/hardware for mastering at an affordable price? I know I hear many people use Sonic(software)? Feel free to post any links I can actually read about the product that also has a picture. For software or hardware. Thanks

I use Wavelab 4.0. It truly is a great piece of software. It has some very effective noise reduction tools and a lot of other things

Can this program work with Mac as well as PC?

Don't even look at the hardware if you're just starting to figure out how all this stuff works. Anything worth using is really expensive and the cheap stuff will ONLY ruin your mix.

Wavelab with the UAD-1 card and some Voxengo and PSP plugins will sound good in the hands of someone who knows how to use them. Not world-class, but a lot better than hardware that costs the same amount.
