Best Hardware Comp For Vocals

I want to purchase a good overall hardware comp for vocals. I was thinking

about purchasing a distressor but heard mixed opinions on it performance on

vox. Any suggesstions for a really good harware comp which can handle

various types of vox styles.

Was also considering an la2a but this is a bit out of price range at the

moment.

The DBX 160 X/XT/A series is good on voice and not too expensive.

1176's and Distressors are my first two thoughts. I have never had a hard time with my Distressor on vocals

I was having a hell of a time mixing vocals in yesterday using all of my software compressors. Then I ran them through the RNC in SuperNice mode and got exactly what I was looking for:transparent smoothening.
