Best condenser mic for my budget?

yo mates :-)

I gonna have some money soon and i want to buy a new condenser... so my budjet is 200$, and my best options are probably (add some if you like...) :
Studio Projects C1
http://www.music123.com/Studio-Projects-C1-i44198.music
Rode NT1A
http://www.music123.com/Rode-NT1A-A...ne-i84341.music
AKG C2000B

Audio Technica AT3035

it has to be versatile, for all kind of singing, clean and metal- growls and screams. if it will be good for acoustic guitar too it will be great... but vocals are the first thing on the list ofcours...

please help me choose the best, or/and tell me what to stay away from...
thanks...!

and sorry if this question has been asked about a million times or something...
have a great day! ;)

It's yet another appearance of the versatile mic thread where somebody wants a mic that does it all for all voices...

Please note: There's no such mic and it doesn't exist at $199 especially.

I've only used one large diaphragm condenser mic close to this price that I haven't sold and appreciate more everytime I use it and that's the AT4040.

I've written a review of this mic: http://mojopie.com/at4040.html

I can vouch for the c1. I don't know if it can do everything, but it is a good mic. Keep in mind, that there is no best in any price range. Your rep points will suffer for having best in you question so keep a mental note of that! :D I had to learn by experience too. They should make a book called home recording.com for dummies!!

Big Kenny's first suggestion would go very far towards getting a real nice and versatile mic in your hands. Of course all of this stuff is based on opinions...

Ditto on the CAD M179, AT 4040 and ADK Hamburg (or Vienna). You'd probably like any of these more than the SP C1 in the long run.

Um, there IS the faq for this forum, it even specifically lists popular mics in various price ranges.

Maybe they should make a book called How Not To Post The Same Question That Has Been Asked A Million Times And Has No Real Answer For Dummies.

They won't read that either :(

LOL!!! Some people don't know there is a FAQ even tho it is clearly visible. That's why they still ask those same tired old questions. I like the title for that book! :D Say that 10 times really fast!

sorry, but i saw the faq, and i didnt saw any budget question in it.

you gave me alot of mics that are over my budjet... so i think:
AT3035
RODE NT1A
CAD M179

are my options... it will be used mainly for metal... it means harsh-high volume vocals... can you say who do you think will FIT ME the best? or who do YOU like the most?

and another thing, i think the rep points are pretty dum. why?
because people like me have negative points JUST BECAUSE because they dont know your "right forum language" or they just noobies at the exact subject...
but when you see one you think he's just talking bullshit all the time or something... and you act differetlly because of it...

Euthanasia,

Ignore the rep points - the little bastards that give you those don't know anything about audio so they masturbate themselves in their little circle jerks by giving bad rep points to people.

What is that absolute most money you can spend on a mic? Even if you have to save a little more - cuz things like the C1 suck ass really bad. you need to step up a few bucks and get a real mic

My vote?

The AKG D112.

It's a large Diaphragm Dynamic rather than a condenser and can double as a floor tom or bass amp mic in a pinch. Just don't use it on the kick - once you use on on a kick a while, they get "beaten in" and lose their sensitivity.

It's also decent on acoustic guitars and guitar amps.
