Walked into an audio shop a few hours ago and stumble upon the Mackie rip offs. The shopkeeper couldn't wait to play it for me with one of his jazz reference CD. Don't know that song very well but from what i hear, not very impressive. First thing that comes to my mind is that the song wasn't properly recorded because of the clicks here and there. Bass is there but not as punchy as i would like it to be. Don't know how it compare to the original Mackie cos i've never heard one. I really cannot comment too much because again i don't know the source and nature of the song he played.
One thing I know, he lied about it getting rave reviews on all the forums in the internet .. and that people are all talking about it. .. Not here at least ! Behringer Truths ?... Lies perhaps ! So glad i'm home listening to Van Morrison on my modest Point Sevens right now.
