Behringer T1950 Magician

Anyone have a Behringer T1950 Magician? Or at least used one in an actual recording environment. I was think about buying one. Would this work as a pre? Or is it merely rack-mountable shit. If it's cool I could get my HR-824's too. If not, I'm an in either/or situation between an Avalon Vt 737sp or the monitors.

Help! I've got lots of equipment to buy before I get married.
 
If you are on a tight budget, this should be the VERY last thing you should buy. All it will do is run your signal through tubes to help warm them up. I suppose this would be a cool thing to have if you REALLY hate the digital sound.
 
im not too impressed with the magician.

get the avalon.......in my opinion. they're awesome, they really are:-)

what monitors are you using now?
