So im going to buy some new overheads, and i can get a couple of c2s for $50, or i could get a couple of nt5s for 300, plus an m3 (for high hat) for one dollar with rodes promotion. Is it worth it to pay the extra money for the nt5s? any sample clips of either of the 2 mics would be really helpfull.

The NT5s sound great..
I love them as room mics for drums, they are ok as over heads.
sound good on strings, high hats or ride cymbals

great as a spaced pair on a acoustic guitar

see this from another thread:

One of the most under-rated mikes around is the Behringer C2. It is an awesome live mixing mike, great for instruments. It is superb on brass, and surprisingly, on double bass.

In both those samples, there's a pair of NT5s as overheads on the kit.

I haven't used the C2s as overheads, nor would I. The C2 behaves very much like a dynamic microphone, and for that reason, I used it often as an instrument mike. It's also the reason why I wouldn't use it as an OH mike.

I disagree with the statement that "berrys have no buisiness even being compared to the rodes ". It's more a case of matching the charateristics of the mike to the use.
