bassy/muddy dp01fx

Hi! New guy here. Am recording on dp01fx under less than ideal conditions. Acoustic guitar with sm58 beta mic. Can't seem to lose the bass frequencies even after tweeking the (limited) EQ. very muddy with lots of bass. Help??

Thanks mixsit ! Yeah I tried that, but couldn't get any gain. I think I'll have to go to condenser mics or an acoustic pick-up. I'm playing an old(59) martin that is naturally bassy, so will have to experiment. I really appreciate your feedback !! I'm new at this so I'm sure I'll have lots more questions.

I have used a PG 48 and have had no problems with bass and things like that. The 48 is a vocal mic, but sounds cool on some things.
