(Bass) Steinberger XT-25 - anyone own one?

I am looking into purchasing a Steinberger XT-25 bass for use as a practice axe. The price looks good and it seems to play well, and has pretty decent tonal control. Does anyone have any experience owning one of these and if so what are your thoughts? Is restringing this thing a pain in the ass?

It's been a looooooong time since I've used one, but this is what I remember.

It was edequate in producing sound. It's feel was ordinary. It was a pain to stand it up somewhere during rehersals. It wasn't mine so i can't comment on obtaining strings or restringing, but I do remember someone bitching about how difficult the intonation was to change on it.

In general i remember thinking it was "that wierd looking bass without a headstock that some famous people were using and was attracting attention" but wasn't that special when you played one.

Sorry, it's all the info I got, and it's only one man's opinion.

Cheers,
FM
