Bass Pod Pro

Looking for some advice here.

I've been recording bass (ibanez edb400) in my studio using a DI box right into the mixer. Im using a PC setup w/ sonar and delta 1010. I havent been happy with the tone I've been getting out of the bass. I have tweaked about everything I could think of, I've also tried to EQ or add effects in Sonar. All of it still sounds like crap.

I checked out the bass pod pro rackmount processer a few times. Would this help me to achieve better tone? Im looking for it to help me with my own recordings, and to have more flexibility in my studo for people I bring in.


Anyone have any exp with these?
 
The new Bass POD XT's come out in a month or two and they may have some significant improvements. Line 6 isn't giving a lot of information about them but there is a press release on their website.

Otherwise, I like the Bass POD a lot. Simple interface and lot's of options for different tones.
