Bass Amp as Monitor??

Okay - I'd guess this may be the stupidest thing anyone's ever said in the history of recording, but:

Right now I'm poor ($120k of law school tuition debt) and can't afford monitors... but I'm sick of mixing with headphones and everything I track sounds like crap. Now, I know you can run a line out from a keyboard into a bass amp (sounds fine!), so what's to keep you from running other non-powered line outs? Could I send a line out from my mixer into my bass amp to monitor keys/guitar/bass? (No, it's not a powered mixer, so don't worry.)

I'm guessing the frequency response on a Fender Rumble 100 is anything but flat - but hey, I'm not too picky.

Can you?
I don't see why not!
As long as your expectation level isn't high. You can use whatever you want, in the mean time. Plus you said just to Monitor Keys, Bass, and Guitar right? It defeats the purpose to use it for mixing, but in my opinion for monitoring a couple of instruments sure, if it helps...........
