bad luck with guitars

ive had my electric for about a year. well, its not mine. its my cousins. but, i didnt play it at all, until a few weeks ago, i got some new strings and went to town.

ive noticed that, the one of the tone nobs.....when your looking down at the guitar, itd be the one on the far right, doesnt adjust any tone. its a fender-type copy. its a silvertone.

would it be that that pot is loose? or is it more serious than that? the other tone/volume nob works just fine. its just getting to be a pain when i dont want it screaming at me.

The bottom tone pot should control the bridge pickup while the other normally controls the neck pickup. Assuming you have two pickups, then I'd guess the bridge pot isn't working. Might just need cleaning, might need replacing.
