avalon 737

Maybe not shitty pres but i think theres other pres in the price range that id rather have.

Dont know about the M5 comparing witht he 737 on TLM-103 though sorry. But i have heard that the 737 is pretty sweet on those mics.

dude, if I had to decide if an Avalon 737 would fit my TLM103 better than an M5 I would be a very happy man!

Seriously.. I don't have experience with either... I get good sound though running my SPC1 through my VTB1 :)
 
If you are just comparing the preamps alone, either one will sound just fine, but a little different. The 737 however has a nice EQ and compressor with it though that will allow you a lot more variation and control over your sound. Personally, look for a used 737 and forget about the M5:)
 
i usually dont use the e.q. or the compressor on the preamps. so without the effects which one is better?
