just got this card. I cant figure out how to have the sound just go right in and out without haveing to record and play back first. It only plays back through the outputs. How do i monitor ? or set it up so I hear straight through? Also ,, I figured out how to record 96000 instead of 44000 ,,,but I cant get 24 bit. There are settings in cool edit pro that let me change it to "32 bit recording default" for "multitrack". Anyone with a card similar to this that can help me set it up ?

To monitor the input signal: Use the Audiophile control panel.

Go to the Patchbay/Router tab, and set HW Out 1/2 to "Monitor Mixer".

Then, go to the Monitor Mixer tab. Un-mute and turn up the "HW In 1/2" faders. Un-mute and turn up the "Master Volume" faders.

Did that work?

You don't have to do anything special to get the AP into 24-bit mode. It's up to the software (Cool Edit in your case) to determine the bit depth.
